Vivis Guide – New SWTOR Guide in the Market

23 01 2012

Not sure if you’ve heard, but theres a new kid on the block out with a new set of Star Wars: The Old Republic Guides. With their very cool site design, I was a little surprised they released their guides a little later than I would have liked but nevertheless, theres always a good reason behind releasing things slow (like Blizzard), perfection is key. I recently asked some of the sites viewers if anyone had purchased the guide before and heres what they said:

Vivi’s SWTOR Guide has totally stunned me! For the boost it gave me with leveling, the price is definitely a best buy – up to the point of almost being ridiculously cheap. I’m left wondering why I ever wasted my time completing missions just as they popped up instead of following this precisely laid out plan. This guide has not only made my day (well, week) allowing me to get my Sentinel to level 50 but I actually made more credits in the process as well.

I’m going to have to say I loved the skills and builds chapter. Some of them are just so simple and effective when you come to think of it Yet I couldn’t find them anywhere else, nor been able to come up with those set-ups no matter how many times I respecced. There is definitely something there for just about anyone. In my eyes, Vivi’s Guide is unmatched when it comes to giving me a boost in SWTOR!

SWTOR Review Guide

21 01 2012

SWTOR GuideStar Wars: The Old Republic is just around the corner and already, the web has exploded with guides ranging from players who played the BETA or expert gamers laying down their opinions. In short: sharing is caring! At this site called KillerGuides, sharing is taken to extreme caring. Pretty interesting this sight is; KillerGuides contains many guides for SWTOR listing all classes, SWTOR strategy guide and SWTOR Credits guide. Sounds overwhelming, doesn’t it? Well, here I am to help you folks with gaining the basic idea of what these guides do since I bought them!

SWTOR Credits Guide:

  • Gambling - Players can gamble like Han Solo did in the original Star Wars movie. Why not try out your hand at gambling to see if you can score amazing items! Play responsibly!
  • Crafting - Craft items that you need and sell them for instant Credits! Remember to learn a useful craft early in the game. To put it into perspective, why not try supplying other players? This is any easy way to make Credits. Note: craft items for PvP since players will always be healing themselves.
  • Missions/Quests - Like any traditional MMO, players are required to go on missions/quests to advance the storyline. Help others out; the rewards will benefit you! Do quests in order to gain new, hard to find items!
  • The Galactic Trade Network - Once there is a cheap and affordable item for sale, immediately buy it and sell it back at it’s market value! Credits will be made in no time!

These are some of the ways players are able to gain income in the game. In the guide, there is much more to be learned about Credits farming. All techniques will help players in the long run! I will not be going into the SWTOR strategy guide since it’s something that players will have to discover by themselves what guide works best with their play style.

SWTOR Credits Guide

However, the strategy guide is easily readable without any language complications. The guides are written in English and in some guides, KillerGuides offers translations into French and German, for example.

Players definitely will benefit from the SWTOR strategy guide and SWTOR Credits guide; if it can help me, surely it can help you enjoy the glory of Star Wars: The Old Republic even more!

Have fun playing!

SWTOR Guide – Leveling Tips

7 12 2011

This article is a good starting point to learn about Leveling Tips. Check out this SWTOR Complete Guides Bundle for more advanced details, insights and gameplay tactics.

Ready to begin your leveling journey down the character progression path laid for you by Bioware? Start with these tips to kick start your leveling quest strong!

My very first tip is which ever your starting planet is, try to hit level 10 on that planet. First of all, leveling up the first few levels is easy and rather fast. As soon as you reach level 10, you get to further specialize into your advanced class. While you’re at it to hit level 10, don’t skip the flashpoint. They actually yield leveling experience and some extra bonuses. Take note that a larger portion of class quests are found on the starting planets. Which means you can easily take your character to level 10 just by questing. Create a mind-map of where each quest is (if you already know), incase you can bundle them up and save time traveling to and between parts of the planet. Additionally, most of the good things such as certain equipment or even getting your own ship and your very first companion are achieved by completing class quests, so you’ll really want to focus on those.

Next tip is to pick up your very first companion when you get the chance. Although you actually control your companion as well, you can take them along with you to complete group quests without a group (afterall, there’s 2 of you). The benefit is ofcourse gathering in those leveling experiences fast and avoiding having to waste playtime waiting for someone to come along to join you on those quests. Nevertheless, you get points for playing in groups, so don’t over it and skip the social rewards of the game.

SWTOR Companions

Don’t skip heroic quests. You can do them ever 24 hours and complete them rather fast with a group. You also get great items and rewards from them.

When it comes to leveling up in SWTOR, flashpoints should be given importance to as well. They are basically instances that you can complete with your companion. When you get the opportunity to come across bonus quests that gets triggered by something you do in the game, always do them. Reason being they tend to be easy to complete and can disappear if you skip them for later.

Well there you go, some basic tips to get you started on leveling up.

SWTOR Leveling Options

27 10 2011

Below is an overview to SWTOR Leveling Options. More detailed content and coverage of the topic could be found in this SWTOR Guide.

As the game release is near, SWTOR fanatics are on their heels looking for ways to beat each other during the early access stages. Finding all necessary means to level up as fast as possible. One way would be to use strategy guides. Hopefully these guides are made from actual gamers and usually or more often so, they usually are. In the hopes that these guides will be released during the early access to SWTOR, I have come across a site that has been in the MMO guide business for quite some time. Share your experiences here if you have used KillerGuides.com? In their site they also provide SWTOR strategy guides that say they will be available on December 20, 2011.

Another way that is more gray in terms of ethics is to buy gold or credits as they call them in Star Wars The Old Republic. Searching in Google, I am sure Google gives way too many options and usually confuses the gamer. As reviews are quite important, review sites sure come in handy in these type of situations. As I am currently playing EVE Online as well, searching for the term ‘Eve Isk Review’, I came across a pretty interesting site called MMOBUX and unbelievably they are already setting up to sell SWTOR Credits. This is a choice every gamer will across though. Take the easy option and pay real money for in-game currency.

SWTOR Leveling Guide

I have known many avid players of Star Wars: The Old Republic, and myself being a player, have had to answer many questions concerning the SWTOR Leveling system. SWTOR Leveling is much like many other RPGs and MMORPGs in that it is based around the accumulation of experience. After a certain amount of experience is gained, a character will level up and be given the chance to input points into the skills and character attributes of their choice.

There are eight skills in all that players have the decision to level up, including: computer use, demolitions, stealth, awareness, persuasion, repair, security, and treat injury. Each of these skills is in turn affected by a certain attribute, which include intelligence (which affects a character’s security, ability to repair, demolish, and use computes), dexterity(which affects a character’s stealth), wisdom (which affects a character’s awareness and ability to treat injury), and charisma (which affects a characters ability to persuade). Players also have many Force Powers to choose from upon attaining a level up. These vary widely depending upon which type of character the player chooses to play as.

Experience is gained through the completion of various quests throughout the main plot as well as by defeating the individual enemies that are encountered along the way. In the SWTOR Leveling system, experience is divided among all characters, whether they were used or not. Even those characters that are left behind during missions will attain the same amount of experience as the player character.

Both the character’s beginning class and their chosen Jedi or Sith class can level up, leading to an overall level cap of 20. Therefore, those players who wish to attain a higher power from their Jedi or Sith classes will want to keep their beginning class as low as possible, so that they can level up their more powerful classes much higher later on. In SWTOR, efficient leveling can be a difficult balance to achieve. It is important for those who wish to get the most out of their characters to plan ahead so that they can create a character that suits them and their individual playing style the best.

SWTOR Guide

Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the latest games in the series, this time in MMORPG format set in the Star Wars universe.

In the game players will have eight classes to choose from: Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight, Smuggler and Trooper for the Galactic Republic. And Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent, Sith Warrior, and Sith Inquisitor for the Sith Empire.

Jedi Consulars focus their studies less on combat and more on utilizing the powers of the Force, mainly telekinesis. Some of their abilities are Benevolence which heals members of the party, Mediation in which the player heals themselves, Clearcasting, Force Pull, Force, Quake, and Blaster Deflection.

Jedi Knights focus more on combat and improving their lightsaber skills. They utilize the Force to improve on their lightsaber skills. Their traditional lightsaber color is blue, but players will have the option of choosing any color that they desire.

Another of the SWTOR Classes is Smuggler. They deal mainly with stealthily transporting goods or persons in order to sidestep taxes. Their cargo is often illegal or banned in certain parts of the galaxy. Some of their abilities are Head Shot, Dirty Kick, and Flashbang. Players will also have various cover abilities.

Republic Troopers are one of the SWTOR Classes created to handle complications involving the Sith Empire. Troopers are well known for their fighting tactics and firepower. Their powerful blasters are always at hand and improvements are constantly being made to their firearms.

Bounty Hunters hail from the Sith Republic. They are ruthless hunters who track down and kill anyone for the right price. They are also willing to offer other services such as protection to their paying clients. They might not use the Force, but they are still more than deadly in their own right.

Imperial Agents and Republic Troopers are two SWTOR Classes that exist on opposite ends of the spectrum. Imperial Agent special classes include Operatives and Snipers. Operatives are highly trained in close-quarters-combat and stealth while Snipers take out their targets from a distance.

Sith Warriors use the Dark Side of the Force to combat their opposites, the Jedi Knights. They are often tasked with some of the Empire’s most vital missions.

Sith Inquisitors use their time and expertise with the Force to focus more on the philosophy of the Dark Side. Their Force Lighting ability has proven to be much more powerful than that of the Sith Warriors.
